History of Pacific Island Soy Sauce
Long ago, long before the great civilizations of Europe were born, a band of brave and sturdy people set out from Asia and sailed the South Pacific in search of their paradise. These early people eventually found their Eden, the island of Guam.
As the native Guamanians settled their island paradise, they created their own soy marinade and sauce, incorporating the native fruits and vegetables. A soy sauce much different from the Asian counterparts that they all knew was born. Guamanian families cherished the individuality of their soy recipes, and passed them down through their families from generation to generation.
Teodoro Cruz was born on Guam March 25, 1934, and just as other Guamanian children do, came to know the special taste of his family's soy marinade and sauce. Throughout his childhood years following the Great War, American culture came to have a great influence on the South Pacific Island. Teodoro eventually enlisted in the US Air Force and moved his wife and ten children to Missouri, the heartland of America. However, he never lost the passion for the taste and special cooking qualities of his family's soy marinade.
Now, just as America brought it's great culture to Guam during the Great War, Pacific Island American Soy Sauce is brought to America's dining table.
